What needed fixing

A legacy WordPress monolith couldn't keep up with changing NHVR compliance rules. Compliance PDFs took around ten minutes to arrive, heavy multi-month audit reports regularly timed out, and every new feature was a fight.

What we built

We rebuilt the platform API-first on NestJS and Vue, then moved report generation into a dedicated worker on Google Kubernetes Engine. The API prefetches data and queues jobs, and the worker renders, compresses and merges even the heaviest multi-month reports in chunks.

• Drag-and-drop work/rest timetable on a 96-block daily grid with overlap detection and live totals
• Shared activity-graph engine used on screen and in generated PDFs
• Queue-based report automation that keeps heavy work off the request path
• Chunked split → render → merge pipeline for multi-month audit reports
• Graceful Kubernetes shutdown and overflow storage for very large deliverables

What changed

Compliance reports now land in under a minute instead of ten, and the system comfortably produces 1,000+ reports a day across 18+ PDF and Excel report types.
